Sundrive Track Team were represented by two riders and two coaches at the weekend Road Development Camp in Westport over the weekend. Terry Cromer was there in his capacity as National Track Sprint coach and Hugh Byrne was there representing the Track commission and to support our two riders John Walsh and Andrea Fagan. The basis of this weekend was to establish development teams for male & female cyclists and was attended by nearly 80 riders. Both our riders exceeded our expectations and gave a good account of themselves. John who started cycling just last summer is now a first year senior which means he had to contend with vastly more experienced riders of considerable ability which was a major step up, however he coped with it well and this bodes well for his ability to become competive over the coming season. Andrea had been following a targetted program since December and it has certainly paid dividends with huge improvement evident and was one of the dominant female riders at the camp. A good weekends training for all in the beautiful (but rolly!) countryside of Mayo.
